BYU Autumn Classic UT – In a new feature to the meet this year, there was a separate “Elite 3 mile” race for the top teams in addition to the “Varsity 5k” race. Multiple race distances means I can’t compare divisions as easily as usual, particularly since that meant I had less information on those in the standard 5k race, where Timpanogos won the boys race led by standout Jake Heslington. In the Elite races, it was American Fork boys again beating Davis with plenty of good individuals and a few quality teams beyond the national powers. On the girls side, it was all about the Davis girls with Ogden edging American Fork in what looks like a breakthrough race for the Cavewomen.

Also of note, New York has started racing. Nothing too notable yet, though worth noting that the Holy Names girls did run at the Shaker Invitational… you can see their results and Meylan’s speed ratings at Tullyrunners.

    1. An excellent question... whenever I have the time, I guess. My HOPE is that I can get some new rankings - both teams and individuals - figured out after next weekend (so first week of October) because that first weekend is mostly a break between several of the big meets like Great American, NPN, Griak and Manhattan (etc.), but I can't make any promises because I won't have internet access during the day due to some housework that will be going on for a couple of weeks...

  2. Texas Showdown - A second matchup between Sandie Raines and Madi McLellan at Kingwood Andy Wells 4K race. Raines 13:29.73; McLellan 13:31.43 Previous course record 14:06 New Course Record, New School Record, New State Record

  3. Cedar Park Meet: Karis Jochen 17:29; Katie Jensen 17:39. Was a 5K but meet announcer said course was 50m short. Still pretty fast times down here in Texas!

  4. Next big meets for Texas girls: Nike South - Jensen vs Kreigshauser. As you know this is a slow course so don't expect super fast times but good head to head competition. McNeil - Jochen vs Raines vs McLellan and probably a few more top notch runners. This is generally a faster course so should be some great times. Oct 6.
