Texas Results - Sep. 22

Firstly, I’d like to apologize in advance: once again, there is going to be a delay in posting results. My AC adapter for my laptop died about an hour ago, so this update is only going to be part 1… I’ll try to find a way to finish up part 2 before I get a new adapter, but I can’t promise anything until that time (probably early next week).

On to the results…

Cedar Park TX – College Park and Cedar Park dueled, with College Park winning the girls side 59-107 while Cedar Park claimed the boys title 40-44.

  1. After a slow weekend in Texas last weekend, the weekend of Oct 6 will be great competition. As you know we have the Nike South Invitational with some of the best teams and individuals running, including all the fastest boys teams and some fast girls coming from Virginia. This is typically a slow course but will be great head to head competition. We also will have the McNeil Invitational on the state course in Round Rock to feature great girls team races including The Woodlands, Kingwood and Highland Park. And four of the best individual girls in Texas will face off for the first time this season with Karis Jochen, Sandie Raines, Madi McLellan and Natalie Rathjen (among others). Rathjen holds the course record of 17:37 from her sophomore year. Expect that record to fall. Raines ran 17:43 there last year and is much faster this year. The weather looks to be good!

  2. Fast times for Girls Gold at McNeil especially considering strong winds and course was 25 minutes long according to meet director (they changed it up from last year due to new soccer field being put in). Freshman Madie Boreman from Leander Rouse (4A)ran very well.

  3. No surprises on the girls side at Nike South. Woodlands boys looked very strong against SLC. Big win for Brigham Hedges.
