US Roundup - Oct. 27 State Meets

Unfortunately, I haven’t had time to fully analyze the results of the past week (sorry, it’s state meet week in Washington), but some important meets that I have taken some preliminary looks at…

Indiana State Meet –

Course looks to have run about as fast as it does in decent weather. Graphing the race would agree, so my initial estimate of 200.0 ~ 14:48 might hold. If so, here are the top ratings (results from milesplit, but include some misspellings… sorry in advance for not cleaning any of them up):

Iowa State –

Only looked at the boys so far, and only graphed the race. I got 200.0 ~ 14:13, which is close to what I got in review after last season (14:08), so it might hold. Hopefully I’ll be able to get a good gauge on the girls early next week.

North Dakota State –

Graphed the boys race. Unsure about the ratings (200.0 ~ 15:09) because it’s one of the states that rotate the course, which of course makes it hard to get a read on the state course in a historical sense… this is what I got, though don’t be surprised if I downgrade it by 10-15 seconds after a more thorough look:

Colorado State Meet –

Once again, only graphed this race. However, it comes out similar (200.0  ~15:53) to previous races on the course, so it will probably hold up.

  1. Take a look at the WV State Meet results from this particular weekend. Exact same course as always, but crazy fast (for WV). In particular, check out the Morgantown girls. If Midland's course is about 10-15 seconds slower than Cary (which it is), they have to be a darkhorse to qualify for NXN out of the southeast.

    1. Yeah, I did check it out earlier this week -- very impressive for WV girls (and solid showing by CM boys). Don't think they (either CM or Morgantown) are quite at the level of an NXN qualifier yet, but both should be top 10 in the SE I think... still have more to research around the SE to be sure though -- hoping to get that done today or tomorrow.
