Results from this year’s first major showdown in Texas, the Marcus I Invitational are posted here: http://www.wetimeraces.com/RacingSystems/Results/2012/Marcus1XC431/MarcusXCMenu.htm
US#22 Southlake Carroll TX girls (52) held off strong challenges from two US Bubble teams in SO#3 Lewisville Flower Mound TX (70) and SO#4 Dallas Highland Park TX (115). Highland Park junior Natalie Rathjen won the race in 17:59.01 while seven others went under 19:00. For a reminder, this is the first year that 4A/5A Texas girls compete for a full 5k rather than 2 miles.
On the boys side, US#2 Southlake Carroll TX ran against the US#27 individual Robert Domanic (Lewisville Hebron TX) and left no prisoners, going 1-2-3 and only a 36.9 second gap from #1-5 to score 19 points and average 15:36.61 over the course.

SLC does not appear to have skipped a beat from last year. Very impressive.
ReplyDeleteVery impressive first showing for slc.
ReplyDeleteHi Watchout, Could you put your email somewhere on this blog. There's a team here in my state that will be interesting to follow due to transfers in. I don't really want to post in an open forum. Curious Parent
ReplyDeleteSure, I've been meaning to put up an "About Me" section eventually, and I'll include it there. But until I get that done, you can reach me @ watchoutXCrankings@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteThe Southlake girls had a freshman run in the JV meet (freshman required to run 2 JV races before can run varsity) who went 18:56. You will see her on the varsity at the next meet for the SLC girls. Will definitely help the already strong girls team.
