NY Public State Results/Ratings

Here's the ratings from the NY (Public) State Meet, including the power merge. Unfortunately, New York has one of the worst qualification systems in terms of getting all of the best teams to the state meet: only one team from each sectional compete. Further weakening the field is that there are multiple state associations within New York and they don't all meet until the State Federation meet (or NXR NY). All of that results in a very small state field (there were only 40 girls teams and 41 boys teams in total) despite it being the fourth most populous state in the nation. That also makes it hard to compare directly with other states, so take these ratings with a grain of salt.

Short summary: FM and Saratoga dueled to a terrific A State race with FM coming out on top. Both teams look primed to compete for a podium finish at NXN Nationals. The FM boys team also looks solid, but probably not a podium contender. Individually, Tuohy continues her undefeated season beating another elite runner (Walters) by 25 seconds, while Tully's Brooke Rauber ran the second fastest time of the day winning the Class D race by nearly 2 minutes.

Like for the Idaho State meet, I'll use a smaller than usual power merge due to the field size.
