National Girls Pre-Season
Rankings – Teams #36-75
Here is the list of teams on the national “Honorable Mention” list, which is the teams #36-75. I broke them down alphabetically by region. Just a reminder on how I come up with my rankings, this is all based almost strictly off of what each team returns from their championship XC meets (State meet and NXN series, or in California’s case CIF Section Finals + State finals) and their best track times of the year from 1500m-5000m. In the national rankings, I do give a little more credit to how good programs have been over the past several years, but it is not overriding – it more or less just breaks ties between teams that seem otherwise very even.
Now, on to the lists!

ReplyDelete....and they may well end up that way, but based on the DATA they aren't. I trust in Watchout's rankings because they aren't biased.
The Saugus girls (and the Fayetteville-Manlius boys) are exactly why I wrote up that refresher course at the very top of the post on how I come up with my rankings. Both are very good programs and one could reasonably expect that they will finish the season higher than they start out, but BASED ON RETURNERS neither team has proven to be better than the 35+ teams ranked ahead of them this year.
