Top WA/OR Girls Individuals - Sep. 12

The expected showdown at Ash Creek nearly went as hoped, and as a result many of this weekend’s best performances on the girls side came from that meet. Oregon 3A standout Marissa Dobry (St. Mary’s) tested Olivia Brooks till the very end but the Summit junior came away with the win 17:59.3 – 18:01.5. The fastest effort, though, came from Kamiak freshman Taylor Roe as she ran away from the field at the Sehome Invitational, covering the 2 mile course in 11:19. Only one other runner has run the course faster than Roe did: Amy-Eloise Neale (Glacier Peak) ran 10:54.93 to win in the most competitive race in meet history back in 2012.
